Production of an alternative fuel to charcoal in Kigali
In Kigali, only half of solid waste is transported to sewage works, whilst the rest is abandoned in uncontrolled dumps spread across the town, engendering significant health and environmental consequences.
The project implements innovative technology using this waste as a fuel, which is accessible to households for domestic cooking purposes.
The project is also of a social nature. Geared towards women, it aims to give them work and a new role to play within their community.
